Crystal structure, Raman spectroscopy, and ab inito calculations of a new bialkali alanate [K.sub.2]LiAl[H.sub.6]
Article Abstract:
A new bialkali alanate [K.sub.2]LiAl[H.sub.6] was synthesized and characterized. Results indicate that the energy for the entropy of mixing of the cations is much smaller in magnititude than the increase in electronic energy and therefore cation mixing is energetically unfavorable in this bialkali alanate.

Hydrogen desorption exceeding ten weight percent from the new quaternary hydride Li3BN2H8
Article Abstract:
The study reports on the synthesis of a new quaternary hydride having the approximate composition Li3BN2H8 with 11.9-wt% theoretical hydrogen capacities. The new quaternary hydride melts at ~190 degree Celsius and releases greater than equal to 10 wt% hydrogen above ~250 degree Celsius.
